Rehearsals start for Eat!
Read about how the first week of rehearsals are going for our new production Eat by performer Nia Davies:
I’m writing this having just finished rehearsal on Wednesday and everthing’s going very well so far.
The start of the rehearsals is always marked by a combination of nervousness and excitment. I’m always very enthusiastic because I love the rehearsal process but there’s always the risk that the company won’t gel and thing won’t go smoothly. But after only 2 days of working together we’re all getting on brilliantly and there’s a shared vision and excitement about the project.
I think we probably have enough material for 2 plays (at least), so many brilliant stories have been collected – food is such a universally emotive subject.
All the actors have been allocated particular recorded interviews to study and we’ve been spending most of today sharing these stories with each other. The stories tend to spark off other reminiscences and we end up carrying on talking long after rehearsals have finished.
It’s also making me really hungry.
