Recipes, Stories and Jazz

On Friday we were at Colmore Business District Food festival collecting recipes and stories all about food to inspire our latest production Eat!.

We had a great response from festival goers who were keen to share their culinary skills and share interesting food related tales. Just a few favourites including a recipe for butternut squash soup and one man’s story about his fish phobia!

We also got to enjoy some live music as we worked thanks to the  Birmingham Jazz and Blues Festival who had bands playing throughout the day, which surprisingly was mostly dry.

A special thanks to volunteers from Black Country Touring and Birmingham Rep who worked tirelessly all day encouraging people to share their recipes, thoughts and stories, and also to festival organisers for a great day.

The final production of Eat! created in conjunction with the Birmingham Rep and in association with Foursight Theatre  will take place from the 18th – 27th October this year. If you would like to get involved in the Eat project then contact dawinder@bctouring.co.uk or call 0121 533 7129.
