Black Country Touring wins Arts & Business Jaguar Land Rover Community Award (as part of Art at the Centre)!

In autumn 2009 we remounted The Corner Shop in an empty shop in Wolverhampton’s Mander Shopping Centre by developing a relationship with Propinvest Asset Management LLP, the company managing the centre.

This was made possible by additional support from, and complemented by Wolverhampton Arts & Heritage, who were successful in curating Art at the Centre. Taking over a number of empty retail units and by working with the University of Wolverhampton, the Art at the Centre festival found new ways to engage and enliven the shopping centre. Activities included artist installations, exhibitions and workshops and promenade theatre by the Corner Shop team.

The Arts & Business awards are for celebrating creativity and innovation between business and the arts in the region.

The Corner Shop was co-produced by Black Country Touring and Foursight Theatre and presented in association with Wolverhampton Arts & Heritage and English Heritage.
